The facility, known as Seelong Sanitary Landfill is expected to meet the increasing demand for waste disposal sites. As an expert in geosynthetis, Huls Engineering has been given the mandate to do the capping closure - design, supply and install by using the geosynthetic materials for this facility. Common containment regulations require different cap/ cover sealing system for non-hazardous and hazardous containments. After coming out the design, the work started off by layering the soil which are single layer for non-hazardous containments and double layer for hazardous containments using geosynthetic materials layering in between of the soils. Materials were properly install by welding and tests were conducted to avoid failure.
